![]() ![]() I give it a 7 because, despite its flaws, it's well produced, the CGI looks occasionally excellent and the story is enjoyable. #COWBOY BEBOP NETFLIX CAST TV#The best way to describe it is to say that it feels like a Tarantino remake shot by some random tv show director. Overall, this adaptation is subpar, mostly because they failed to capture the Watanabe aesthetic and style. The music is unbelievably great, as it was in the original, and you should stick with the show for a couple of episodes -even if you don't like it- just to listen to the soundtrack. John Cho stars as Spike Spiegel alongside Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, and Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine. This is why American comic book characters (eg Marvel) come across as more believable when played by actors: "Manga acting" requires Al Pacino in Scarface levels of intensity. However, as it happens with Manga adaptations (think Ghost in the Shell), both are underacting their parts. Mustafa Shakir is considerably better as Jet Black. Think of it a bit like Bruce Willis playing James Bond. John Cho is not believable as Spike, and though he tries to bring personality to the part, he just doesn't look it at all. It screams "generic scifi, no distinctive style, no uniqueness, no Watanabe". ![]() And as a result, this show is lacking character. Even the close-up shot of the famous "rose in a puddle" from episode 1 manages to look significantly different. It is an ultra modern, tv-series scifi aesthetic, that looks completely different in tone and style to the original. Though it adapts the storyline, the characters and the universe of the original Bebop series, its blue, cold palette has nothing to do with cowboys or deserts. Live-Action Cast John Cho as Spike Spiegel Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine Eden Perkins as Ed Charlie & Harry as Ein Alex. #COWBOY BEBOP NETFLIX CAST SERIES#The NETFLIX series is completely different. And it has not been replicated ever since. More importantly, the color palette and imagery of the anime series created a very original mixture of cyberpunk and the wild west, with bright and earthy colors and ultra modern cities that somehow seemed old and dirty, the way some towns of the Old West look half eaten by the desert and forgotten by time. Now the reason the anime was so famous is because it is a curious blend of entertaining story and likeable (but somewhat cliched) characters coupled with incredible visuals and unbelievable music. So this show comes with very heavy legacy, namely the extremely stylish and memorable direction and aesthetic of the legendary anime director Shinichoro Watanabe, whose original production made Cowboy Bebop famous as one of the best anime shows of all time. ![]()

![]() ![]() In " She_C4n't_Sle3p.mp4", Macy asks her father, Jester (Martin Greywhinder), to sing her a lullaby before he goes on a business meeting. More information about this tape can be found here. More information about this tape can be found here (non-relevant to this exact page). ![]() Once this scene ends, the footage cuts to a man holding the camera, breathing heavily as a dog is heard whimpering/crying in the background somewhere. The time-stamp for this footage begins on April 8th, 1985. In this tape, our first view of Banzo is within Macy's room as suggested by the dialogue between Martin and a younger child. Macy Greywhinder is first heard in this tape recorded from her bedroom. She's more bold in her actions and seems to lash out on any nearby objects (e.g cameras).ĭespite this, Sofia tries to occasionally speak to potential victims/audience-members via camera footage or become self-aware of her current situation (as seen within the H4PPY_N3W_FRIEND5! tape). As seen in the few tapes including her, she has a growing hatred against Martin and those who trespass on the Greywhinder/M&A HarmonyToys property. Sofia - unlike Macy - is more aggressive and manipulatively playful to those who encounter her. As her father used every means to chase down both Gloria and Macy, she listened to her mother and decided to hide within a nearby closet (where he quickly discovered her and disfigured her via placing her remains inside the Sofia doll). Still, she seemed to care deeply about her family, her mother especially. As a result, Macy had become more so an annoyance to him as time progressed. When trying to get her father to sing her a lullaby to help her sleep, Martin continuously declines, insisting he is far too busy and placing his work first than his own family needs. Macy seems to be slightly demanding yet innocent in nature. Inside of her mouth, a large appendage (similar to a grappling tongue) is visible within this transformation.įrom the 360 Character Showcase video, it is actually revealed that the appendage is within her throat stretching up to her mouth. Both her scalp and mouth split as Sofia's jaw expands in separate directions horizontally. Sofia's eyes - in this form - become smaller but more blood-shot (presumably due to the eyes being Macy's upon her death). There's not many changes for Sofia's physical form besides from human gums being revealed (possibly Macy's remains despite being bright pink) and her eyes becoming larger. In terms of her facial features, she has bright pink lipstick, cardinal eyes, and a small nose. She has: beige porcelain for skin, a sky-blue skirt and a matching buttoned top, a white collar, stripped socks (red and blue), and malachite shoes. Sofia is entirely made out of plastic material, including her clothes and chestnut hair (in the style of pig-tails). ![]() |
